People got sick. People lost their jobs. Even the fortunate
ones that can continue to work from home have experienced a severe lockdown
fatigue: watching the same movies for the 20th time, fighting with family over
Wi-Fi bandwidth, and eating the same take-out again and again. This pandemic is
a disaster by any measure.
Now there is light at the end of the tunnel, and many
countries and provinces are on various phases of reopening. It's only a matter
of time when we will finally live in a COVID-free world again. And people can't
wait to get back to "normal." But as you happily put the unpleasant
COVID-19 days behind you, please hold on to a few important lessons this
pandemic has taught us about life.
- Live every day to the fullest. Don't take today for granted, and don't assume tomorrow is guaranteed.
- Eat healthy, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, and strengthen your immune system.
- Spend quality time with your loved ones, and tell them you love them.
- Get your financial matters in order. Diversify your investment portfolio. Consider creating a will and getting life insurance.
- Start working on your bucket list now, regardless of your age.
Do all of these, and you will be able to remain calm when
the next crisis is upon you, knowing that you have prepared well, physically
and mentally. Do all of these, and you will have no regrets when it is your
time to depart from this world, knowing that you have taken good care of your
loved ones, emotionally and financially. Please, take action, now.
